They were all elite by now and had seen horrors. In the last battle, I only had 1200 men left from the 9500 I had originally. I fought three battles during the same turn, and I miraculously took Mysore the next one, I now had to defend it against yet another attack.
The battle started, they attacked me, and I fought for hours.
Much to my surprise Between Mysore and my army stood 40 000 (!) Moghul soldiers, and another 14 000 men strong army of Maratha was waiting behind them.
My goal was to capture Mysore, and then proceed north. I landed 9500 elite french soldiers, with a lot of experience and some elite units. I first captured Ceylon as an outpost, and proceded to invade the south of India. To give a real example of the scale in the 1760's I was forced to go back to India because the Moghul and the Maratha confederacy declared war on me after I had previously sold my territories there, and they started to mess with my trade routes. I'll come back on the naval battles later, but still, be careful when you field a lot of boats, you can't make more than one formation (line of ship), otherwise the game will invariably crash (maybe it's just me). The mod also deals with naval combat, and you can field up to 30 boats at once in a battle (non including reinforcements). For those unfamilliar with the game, there are 3 major theaters: India, Europe, America and 4 minor naval theaters that are useful for trade (strait of Madagascar, Ivory coast, Brazil coast, Dutch Indies), making Empire unique for its near-global scale. A full army stack will generally amount to 10 000 soldiers (and that's if you count 8 to 10 artillery units). I've played a campaign with France that took me 62 hours to complete, here's my feedback.ĭarthMod allows you to start a campaign with 40 units stack armies (instead of 20), and those armies are filled with regiments that sometimes include up to 500 units (mostly around 300/350). I didn't like the game at release and didn't really touch it since, and I thought I'd give it a try with DarthMod. Someone PM'd with a suggestion to try Empire Total War with the last DarthMod version (8.0.1). Hello again !
